DPRK Team Beats Its Yemeni Rival in Football Match

Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) — The DPRK team beat its Yemeni rival 1:0 in their second match of the second-stage preliminaries of the Asian region for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was held at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang on Tuesday.
Now the DPRK tops the rankings of Group H with four wins and one draw in five matches.
At around 10th minute of the Tuesday match, DPRK’s Jong Il Gwan scored a goal on penalty kick.
Inspired by the enthusiastic cheering, the DPRK footballers overpowered the Yemeni opponents in the whole time of the match.
After the match, Ameen Ali Alsuaini, chief coach of the Yemeni team, told reporters that he’d like to say congratulations to the Korean team for doing such an enthusiastic game.
Kim Chang Bok, chief coach of the DPRK team, said the team would pay up to the trust of the local people by winning the preliminary matches.

Inter-Korean Labor Organizations Agree to Hold Workers’ Football Competition in N. Korea

Labor organizations of South and North Korea have agreed to hold an inter-Korean workers’ football competition in Pyongyang in the North from October 28 to 31.

The agreement was reached on Monday in working-level talks in Gaeseong between South Korea’s two umbrella unions The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) and the North’s General Federation of Trade Unions.

The three organizations said they agreed to hold the football competition for reconciliation, unity, peace and reunification in order to implement the joint statement adopted in the high-level talks in August.

The KCTU and FKTU plan to travel to the North by chartered plane for the event. The two sides meanwhile agreed to continue discussions on details of the competition.

Bahrain
Japan
Iraq
China PR
Vietnam
Uzbekistan
South Korea
Tajikistan
United Arab Emirates
Australia
Qatar
Thailand
Saudi Arabia
North Korea
Iran
Yemen
