Korean and Japanese Sportsmen Meet

Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) — The 2015 meeting of Korean and Japanese sportsmen took place in Tokyo on Feb. 27.
Present there were Pae Ik Ju, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Kim Ro Hyon, director of the Korean Sportsmen’s Federation in Japan, Korean sportsmen and those concerned of the Japan Olympic Committee and Japanese sports organizations.
Kim in his speech called on Korean sportsmen in Japan to conduct diverse sports activities to firmly preserve and display national identity and boost exchange with Japanese sportsmen this year marking the 60th anniversary of the formation of Chongryon.
He called for contributing to deepening friendly relations between the DPRK and Japan through sports.
A vice-chairman of the Japan Olympic Committee and the managing director of the Nippon Sport Science University said they want to help more Japanese related to sports visit Pyongyang by exerting efforts on sports exchange with the DPRK.
That day the second session of the 22nd Standing Council of the Korean Sportsmen’s Federation in Japan was held.
