Premier League under Way in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) — A premier league tournament takes place here as part of the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games, which is held annually on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (April 15), the birthday of President Kim Il Sung.
The tournament, which runs at Kim Il Sung Stadium and Sosan Football Stadium from March 1 to early April, is competed by 12 men’s football teams and 12 women’s football teams from April 25, Mangyongbong, Amnokgang, Sobaeksu, Ponghwasan and other local sports teams.
As the first premier league for this year, it has come under professional and public spotlight.
