Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) — The Rungna People’s Sports Park and Pyongyang International Football School appeared on the picturesque Rungna Islet here.
The sports park is a comprehensive sports service center covering more than 200 000 square meters. It has a football field, basketball and volleyball courts, skate park and various other sporting facilities. There are small parks, a restaurant and soft-drink stands.
The football school, a center for training future footballers, has a school-building, hostel and cultural and welfare establishments.
A ceremony for their completion took place on Thursday.
Present at the ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Thae Bok, Mun Kyong Dok and others.
Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, in his address said that they are the edifices of eternal value which have sprung up thanks to the noble intention of the dear respected Kim Jong Un to usher in a new era of high civilization in the 21st century and his energetic leadership.
He called upon the officials and employees of the park and teachers of the school to thoroughly implement the important tasks given by Kim Jong Un to make a positive contribution to materializing the WPK idea of turning the country into a sports power.
He underscored the need to minutely organize sports service to visitors and successfully operate the park so that people may benefit from the deep loving care of the party.
He stressed the need for the sports school to steadily improve the contents and methods of education as required by the developing reality and successfully manage and operate it so as to train more promising footballers.
After being briefed on the park and school, the participants looked round them. -0-
