Hyesan, June 4 (KCNA) — A sports contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize opened in the DPRK on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory in the battle of Pochonbo commanded by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. It will be held in Pyongyang, Phyongsong, Hamhung, Nampho and other places.
Its participants will compete in at least 30 events including football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and marathon race.
An opening ceremony took place at the Hyesan Stadium in Ryanggang Province on Wednesday.
Present there were officials concerned and sports persons and working people, youth and students in Hyesan City.
Kim Pyong Sik, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made an opening address.
At the end of the ceremony a football match was held.

Hey! Non so se hai letto la notizia (ottima) ma la Challenge Cup sarà ufficialmente annullata e alla prossima coppa asia il numero di squadre ammesse sarà automaticamente ampliato da 16 a 24.

Questa è un OTTIMA notizia perchè la Corea era già stata classificata come non più in grado di partecipare alla Challenge Cup (per qualificarsi alla Coppa Asia), ora con il Raddoppio è pur vero che il numero di squadre in lizza aumenta, ma la partecipazione è più probabile.
Inoltre forse ti è sfuggita, ma la AFC Under-14 (prima edizione) è iniziata e finita e la Korea DPR ha vinto!

E così si porta a casa un’altro titolo AFC.
Se non erro comunque il prossimo appuntamento è la coppa del mondo under-20 femminile. Con un girone fattibile (Finlandia, Canada e Ghana). Per i quarti sarà però durissima in ogni caso perchè il girone B è quello “di ferro” (Stati Uniti, Brasile, Germania, Cina).
