An on-off transfer saga dating back to the beginning of January is nearing its end after Kim Seong Yong arrived in Korat on Wednesday and reported for training at Suranaree University. He has still yet to officially sign a contract, but that is thought to be a formality. The striker has already been registered as a Korat player as the transfer window closed last week.

Head coach Arjhan Srong-ngamsup said that the 186cm Japanese-born North Korean is a forward with great skills, but that he is a long-term signing and won’t be rushed into the side. The coach also noted that it will take time for Kim to adapt to Thai football and that he (the coach) will rotate his seven foreign signings dependent on conditions and opponents.

Unsurprisingly, the coach also stated that he will use a mixture of some first team players and under used squad players in the League Cup match at Laem Chabang this Sunday.
