DPRK Athletes Vow to Win More Golds at Int’l Games

Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) — Encouraged by supreme leader Kim Jong Un’s New Year address, the sportspersons in the DPRK have turned out in a fresh effort to display the honor of the country at international games.
Last year the DPRK athletes registered spectacular successes in different international tournaments, bringing great pleasure to all servicepersons and civilians of the country.
They obtained a lot of gold medals in the 17th Asian Games and other international games. The DPRK emerged the strongest in Asian women’s football and showed a rapid progress in the weightlifting event.
Kim Kwang Min, chief coach of the women’s football team, told KCNA:
Nothing will be impossible if we, players and coaches, display our mental power to the full.
We will show good results in this year’s international games, always cherishing the people’s trust and expectation, and thus contribute to significantly celebrating the 70th anniversary of national liberation and the 70th birthday of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Om Yun Chol, a weightlifter of the Amnokgang Sports Team who is twice world championship holder and Olympic gold medalist, said that he would do his best to turn the country into a sports power with more gold medals.
